Predicted Liverpool lineup vs Norwich City as Reds aim for FA Cup quarter-finals

Liverpool face off against Norwich City in the fifth round of the FA Cup tonight and here is our predicted XI for the game.

With Liverpool playing 120 minutes against Chelsea in the League Cup on Sunday, Jurgen Klopp is expected to make a fair few changes.

Jurgen Klopp has already confirmed that Thiago Alcantara, Roberto Firmino and Caoimhin Kelleher will miss tonight's game.

With that in mind, let's predict what side Klopp is going to field against Dean Smith's Norwich side tonight.

Alisson

With Kelleher being rested for tonight's game, Alisson or Adrian will most likely step into the young Irishman's shoes.

We've gone with the Brazilian, hoping that Jurgen will be on the hunt for the quadruple this season.

Conor Bradley

The young Northern Ireland international is a good shout to start today's FA Cup tie. Trent Alexander-Arnold has played a lot of football this season and he needs as much rest as possible.

He has been left out of the U19's game against Genk in the UEFA Youth League, so it's looking very likely that he will be in the squad at least.

Ibrahima Konate

Konate is almost guaranteed to start against the Canaries today. He made a brief cameo against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup, replacing Joel Matip in the 90th minute and impressed everyone.

It seems like Matip is Klopp's settled second choice centre-back this season so that relegates the Frenchman to cup competitions and substitute appearances.

Joe Gomez

Despite only playing 13 games this season in all competitions, Gomez will be hoping he gets the nod for today's game after Virgil van Dijk played a full 120 minutes on Sunday.

Kostas Tsimikas

Earlier in the season, there were shouts for Tsimikas to be the first choice left-back but since then, Andy Robertson has been on fire.

However, the Greek international hasn't put a foot wrong since he's played for Liverpool and it would be very unlikely that we don't see him start tonight.

Tyler Morton

Similar to Conor Bradley, Morton was left out of the UEFA Youth League squad against Genk, meaning he will be in and around the squad.

Klopp has placed a lot of faith in the youngster this season and playing him today would be a massive confidence boost for the 19-year-old.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

The Ox did not feature against Chelsea on Sunday so we're expecting him to get into the starting XI ahead of other senior midfielders.

Curtis Jones

Due to the lack of injuries Liverpool are facing at the moment, Curtis Jones has been struggling to make it into the matchday squad, never mind the starting 11.

However, today will be a great game for him to start, especially with Harvey Elliott, Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita and James Milner all getting minutes in the League Cup final on Sunday.

Kaide Gordon

Liverpool's next teenage sensation has already impressed in this season's FA Cup, scoring in the third round against Shrewsbury.

Gordon seems to be taking a similar route into the squad as Harvey Elliott did when he joined so seeing him start against Norwich wouldn't be a surprise.

Divock Origi

Despite coming on in the 97th minute for Luis Diaz in the Carabao Cup final and scoring a penalty in the shoot-out, we're expecting Origi to start in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

Takumi Minamino

Having already played two times in the FA Cup this season, Minamino will be hoping to add to his one goal in this competition against a relegation-threatened Norwich City.

Anfield Watch Verdict

Expect a much changed lineup from Klopp today. A lot of players played 120 minutes against Chelsea and it is a great time to use the squad depth.

Like in previous seasons, the German manager will also look to his youth setup to supply some much-needed cover.

However, Liverpool will still have some firepower on the bench if needed, but Klopp will be hoping that he won't need to use that option though.
