Morgan Boyes sends Liverpool farewell message

Young defender Morgan Boyes sealed his permanent exit from Liverpool on Tuesday evening with him heading north of the border to link up with Scottish Premiership side Livingston.

The centre-half now gets the opportunity to really try and get his career going after seeing first-team opportunities at Liverpool ultimately hard to come by.

He did feature for the Reds against Aston Villa in that infamous cup tie that saw the Reds name a very youthful side whilst also attending the Club World Cup, and that will surely live long in the memory despite the scoreline that went against the side that day.

Indeed, he's spent a lot of his young career at Liverpool and the experience will hopefully put him in good stead for the challenges that lie ahead, as he looks to force his way in at Livi.

He took to Twitter, meanwhile, to reflect on his time on Merseyside, with him starting there as a kid:

Boyes managed to achieve what any young player sets out to do and that's feature for the first-team.

He might not have been able to record lots of appearances, but he will always have that on his CV and now he'll be looking forward to the tasks that lie ahead.

Certainly, he is a player that has got the potential to have a thoroughly decent career and hopefully this can be the start of that for him.

We wish him well, then, and hope to see him progress well up in Scotland.
