Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius looks very different from the player the club signed from Mainz for a transfer fee of €6.20 million back in the summer of 2016.

As you can see pictured here, the 28-year-old has put on a lot of size recently.

It has been reported that Karius and Liverpool are set to part ways in the summer. The shot-stopper will be a free agent as of June.

Anfield Watch Verdict

We aren't surprised to hear that Karius is set to depart Liverpool in the summer. He clearly has no future at Anfield.

The goalkeeper has not played for the club's first-team since the 2018 Champions League final against Real Madrid.

The Spanish giants defeated the Reds 3-1. Karius was at fault for two of the three goals that Liverpool conceded on the night.

The German has had loan spells with Besiktas and Union Berlin since. But, neither stint led to a permanent move away from Anfield for Karius.

The likes of Alisson, Caoimhin Kelleher and Adrian are ahead of the German in the pecking order at Liverpool.

With that being the case, Karius is set to finish his Reds career having kept 22 clean sheets in 49 appearances for the club's first-team.

We do hope that the goalkeeper can get his career back on track. As we have pointed out, Karius is only 28 years of age. For a shot-stopper, he is very young.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp would not have signed him if he lacked ability. It is well known that the 54-year-old is one of the best manager's in world football, so he knows a good player when he sees one.

Karius just needs to get some confidence back in his game. We wish him all the very best heading into the future.
