Liverpool offer up Ryan Gravenberch training update
Liverpool offered a photo that shows Ryan Gravenberch is well on his way back to playing. The midfielder has been out for a couple of weeks.
Ryan Gravenberch was one of several Liverpool players to succumb to injury earlier this year. His was more high-profile than most, though, as the Dutchman went down in the Carabao Cup final.
Gravenberch started the game in the absence of Dominik Szoboszlai and Curtis Jones. He was unable to see out the first half, however, after a bad challenge forced him off.
And the £34m signing from Bayern Munich has been unable to play since, missing games against Southampton, Nottingham Forest, Sparta Prague, and Manchester City. Now, however, it seems he's back.
Ryan Gravenberch back in training
Liverpool showed off photos from training this week ahead of their UEFA Europa League Last 16 second leg meeting with Sparta Prague. Gravenberch was present - the Dutchman seemingly back in training.
Not just running, either, but he seems to be nearing fitness. Now, whether that means he can feature on Thursday evening is another matter.
But with a 5-1 first-leg lead, it's entirely possible that Liverpool give Gravenberch some minutes. The hope will be that he can take a place in the squad against Manchester United, certainly.
Gravenberch has had a mixed season, showing flashes of incredible quality but also struggling to impact games. He has managed three goals from midfield, with two coming in the Europa League and another in the FA Cup.
And if he can return quickly, he'll be sure to get plenty of game time over the next three months. Liverpool are competing in three competitions, after all, having already won one.
Gravenberch has shown he can impact cup games and if he can steer-clear of injuries, there's no doubt he can play a strong part in the run-in.
