Liverpool assistant manager Pep Lijnders has revealed that there is a chance that Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez and Dominik Szoboszlai are available for the Carabao Cup final.

Liverpool will be without a host of players for this Sunday's clash, with the likes of Diogo Jota, Curtis Jones, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alisson and Thiago all missing out due to recent fitness concerns.

Joel Matip is also out for the Reds until the end of the season, while youngsters Stefan Bajcetic and Ben Doak won't get to take the field at Wembley this weekend.

However, Lijnders has revealed that Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez and Dominik Szoboszlai may be available for Sunday's showpiece event, although their place in the squad is not guaranteed.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Lijnders stated: "Dom, Darwin and Mo we have to really see.

"We have two more days, so today's session and tomorrow's session, and then last minute we will check if they can be there. It would be great, to be honest."

Speaking about the rest of the squad's injuries, he added: "Ali, muscle injury, after the international break [in mid-March]. It will take really a [long] time.

"Curtis, it's like high ankle sprain. He will be in and around the international break.

"Trent, lateral ligament. He will be after international break. Jota, medium ligament. He will be after the international break.

"So, after the international break means we're not sure."

While not the most conclusive injury update from Lijnders, it's positive that the likes of Salah, Nunez and Szoboszlai may all be available in some capacity for Sunday's final.

The Reds could really use the attacking threat provided by the formidable trio and it would certainly boost the club's chances of lifting the Carabao Cup for the second time in three years.

However, for the likes of Jota, Alexander-Arnold, Alisson and Jota, a return won't come until the end of March at the earliest.
