How Liverpool could lineup next season

The 2021-22 season has concluded, so there are plenty of transfer rumours doing the rounds.

Therefore, we thought that we would take a look at how Liverpool could lineup next season.

Goalkeeper - Alisson

Alisson will be Liverpool's goalkeeper for many more years. The shot-stopper is contracted until the conclusion of the 2026-27 campaign.

Alisson averaged a WhoScored player rating of 6.87 across the Premier League last season. The aforementioned figure highlights that the Brazil international is far from finished at the top level.

Right-back - Trent Alexander-Arnold

Alexander-Arnold was superb for Liverpool last season. The right-back was a real weapon in attack.

Alexander-Arnold scored two goals and registered 19 assists in 47 appearances for the club's first-team.

No one will be replacing the Scouser next season.

Centre-back - Virgil van Dijk

Van Dijk is Liverpool's best defender. It is not a coincidence that since the centre-back arrived at Anfield back in 2018, the Reds have won six major trophies.

Centre-back - Ibrahima Konate

Konate is a very promising player. The centre-back started for Liverpool in the Champions League final against Real Madrid, which highlights that Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has a lot of faith in the 23-year-old.

Despite the fact that Joel Matip was Van Dijk's partner for the majority of the 2021-22 campaign, don't be surprised if Konate is starting alongside the Dutchman next season.

Left-back - Andy Robertson

Similar to Alexander-Arnold, Robertson was a real threat in attack for Liverpool last campaign.

The left-back found the back of the net three times and secured 15 assists. We look forward to watching Robertson continue his good form in the years to come.

Midfield - Fabinho

Fabinho is arguably Liverpool's best player. The Brazil international keeps everything ticking over in midfield.

Fabinho's ability to stop opposition attacks allows Liverpool's back four to play a more aggressive brand of football.

Midfield - Thiago Alcantara

Thiago was good for Liverpool last season. Staying fit has been an issue for the midfielder throughout his career.

However, Thiago managed to stay healthy for the majority of the campaign. The 31-year-old made 39 appearances and averaged a WhoScored player rating of 6.94 last season.

Providing he can stay healthy, Thiago will be a mainstay in Klopp's team going forward.

Midfield - Jordan Henderson

If Liverpool were to sign a midfielder this summer, then you could argue that Henderson's position is up for grabs.

The reality is, the England international is starting to get on. Henderson is 31 years of age and not the player he once was. He's not as decisive as he once was with and without the ball.

It has been reported that Liverpool will sign a quality midfielder this summer. But, until that happens, Henderson remains a key figure in Klopp's side.

Forward - Mohamed Salah

Despite there being plenty of talk regarding Salah's future, he has made it clear that he will be a Liverpool player next season.

The winger scored 31 goals and registered 16 assists in 51 appearances last campaign.

So, we are obviously relieved that Salah does not plan on going anywhere in the next 12 months.

Forward - Luis Diaz

Liverpool signed Diaz from Porto for a transfer fee of £42.30 million. The forward hit the ground running and became a regular in Klopp's starting XI for the second-half of last season.

Diaz scored six goals and secured five assists in 26 appearances for Liverpool's first-team.

Therefore, we fully expect the 25-year-old to retain his place in Klopp's team next season.

Forward - Darwin Nunez

With Sadio Mane reportedly set to depart Liverpool this summer, the Reds have reportedly signed Benfica striker Darwin Nunez.

The Uruguay international found the back of the net 34 times in 41 appearances for the Portuguese side last season.

Nunez will be a fine addition to Liverpool's attack.
