A closer look at Liverpool's remaining Premier League fixtures

Liverpool have a very good chance of winning the 2021-22 Premier League title.

The Reds are only one-point behind league leaders Manchester City.

With that being the case, we thought that we would take a look at Liverpool's remaining fixtures.

April

Watford (home) - 2nd

Liverpool will welcome Watford to Anfield to begin April. The Reds smashed the Hornets 5-0 at Vicarage Road back in October 2021.

Roberto Firmino scored a hat-trick on the day.

Watford have not improved as the season has progressed. They currently sit in 18th-place on the Premier League table, which means that they are currently fighting relegation.

If anything, that makes Watford more dangerous. Teams that are fighting for survival tend to bring more energy into their final few games of the season. A potential banana skin match for Liverpool.

In saying that, this is a game Jurgen Klopp's side should be winning.

Manchester City (away) - 10th

The match against Manchester City at the Etihad is clearly the big one. Winning this game does not hand Liverpool the title, but it could put them in pole position to claim the trophy.

However, the Reds have not won at the Etihad since 2018. Therefore, Liverpool will have to lift it if they are to claim the three points against the Citizens.

The two sides could not be split at Anfield back in October 2021. The game ended in a 2-2 draw.

Aston Villa (away) - Postponed

Aston Villa do pose a threat to Liverpool's title hopes. Steven Gerrard is in charge of a decent side.

The likes of Philippe Coutinho, Ollie Watkins, John McGinn and Douglas Luiz help make up Villa's XI. When Liverpool travel to Villa Park, they will have to be at it to claim a victory.

Liverpool only just beat Aston Villa back in December 2021. Mohamed Salah scored the winning goal (1-0).

Manchester United (home) - 19th

Liverpool should be battering Manchester United when they come to Anfield in April. The Reds have already defeated the Red Devils 5-0 at Old Trafford this season.

That is all that has to be said.

Everton (home) - 24th

Again, Liverpool have already smashed Everton once this season. Klopp's side defeated the Toffees 4-1 at Goodison Park.

If anything, Everton have gotten worse since the aforementioned fixture. They sit in 17th-place on the Premier League table, which says enough.

Liverpool should really be beating Everton in April, especially at home.

Newcastle United (away) - 30th

Newcastle United have improved since Eddie Howe has taken the reigns. For the early part of the season, the Magpies sat in the relegation zone.

But, they have now moved up to 14th-place on the Premier League table. Despite that being the case, Liverpool should still be finding a way past Newcastle United at St James' Park.

Klopp's side beat them 3-1 at Anfield earlier this campaign.

May

Tottenham Hotspur (home) - 7th

Tottenham are a strange side. They sit in fifth-place on the Premier League table. Yet, they have defeated Manchester City twice this season, which shows that they are capable of causing an upset.

Spurs also secured a 2-2 draw against Liverpool in North London back in December 2021. A potential danger game for the Reds at Anfield, especially with Harry Kane running around for the opposition.

Southampton (away) - 15th

Southampton are having a decent season. But, they are a mid-table side at best, which is why Liverpool rolled them 4-0 at Anfield back in November.

A victory for the Reds at St Mary's is more than achievable.

Wolverhampton Wanderers (home) - 22nd

If the title race goes to the final day, it could be a stressful afternoon for Liverpool at Anfield. Wolves welcomed the Reds to the Molineux Stadium back in December 2021.

It took a Divock Origi stoppage time goal to separate the two sides (1-0). Wolves certainly played well against Liverpool on that particular night.

Klopp's side might have their work cut out on the final day of the season. Only time will tell if Liverpool are to win the 2021-22 Premier League title.
