Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Joao Moutinho has praised the Anfield atmosphere.

Wolves will face Liverpool away from home on Saturday. Ahead of the Premier League clash, Moutinho has waxed lyrical about the Anfield atmosphere.

The 36-year-old said that it's one of the best stadiums he has ever played in.

“Anfield is one of the best atmospheres I’ve ever played in – maybe even the best one. It’s true. I told this in the first year, second, third and fourth, because the fans of Liverpool love the game, like fans of other clubs too, but Anfield is special,” Moutinho said, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo.

“They support the team from the first minute to the final whistle and it doesn’t matter the result and we’re going to have a tough game. We already know that they have a very good team, a very good manager, and they try to win the game.

“We are training every single day to improve, to do our best and go to the games to try our opportunities and score and win the games. And that’s what we’ll try to do at Liverpool.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

Moutinho is spot on. There is a reason why the Liverpool fans are known as the '12th man'.

The support inside Anfield is absolutely brilliant. The players no doubt feed off the volume created by the fans.

As for the opposition, it must be a hindrance to their performance. Anfield can be an intimidating place to go.

Hopefully the Liverpool supporters get behind the team on Saturday. The Reds need a positive result after losing 4-1 to Napoli at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.

We wish the team all the best ahead of this weekend. Only time will tell if Liverpool are to secure the three points against Wolves.
