Owen Beck says 'there was a hug' in first goodbye to Jurgen Klopp

Owen Beck gave Jurgen Klopp a goodbye this week as he rejoined Dundee on loan. There are lot to come at Liverpool.

Owen Beck left Liverpool for a second time this season, rejoining Dundee on loan. The left-back had gone there last summer and enjoyed a fantastic first-half of the season with the Scottish side.

But injuries at Anfield led to a recall last month. Beck was immediately wanted by other clubs - both Celtic and Rangers hoped to get him. That idea was immediately ended, however, with his Premier League debut against Bournemouth.

Andy Robertson's return has meant that was Beck's sole appearance for Liverpool this season. He's now back with Dundee, who were the only club he was able to join because of FIFA rules. Players aren't allowed to play for more than two clubs in a season and Beck featured for Dundee before one Liverpool appearance.

And so Beck is back with the side he thrived with, much to their joy. An article in the Scotsman explained how it all came about - they couldn't have been happier to see the youngster debut against Bournemouth and leave Dundee as his sole destination.

But Beck's return also means he won't be there for the final months of Jurgen Klopp's reign at Anfield. And unlike most, he left Liverpool knowing Klopp was off at the end of the season.

Thus Beck was able to give Klopp a goodbye - the first of many on their way this season.

“There was a hug,” he told the Scotsman. “He’s a big hugger!”

Klopp is certainly that, but Beck will also have said goodbye to the training staff he's been working with at the first-team level. They'll also depart with the boss at the end of the season.

It'll be all change at Anfield, then. Beck won't be returning to the same place this summer.
