"Of course" - Jamie Carragher is confident Liverpool can turn their form around
Pundit Jamie Carragher is confident that Liverpool can turn their season around.
The Reds have had a slow start to the 2022-23 campaign. Liverpool have only accumulated nine points from a possible 18 in the Premier League.
However, Carragher believes that Jurgen Klopp's side will bounce back.
As quoted by Anfield Watch on Twitter, he told Sky Sports the following: "Of course, yeah. It's only six weeks ago since the season started and last season they was two games away from doing something that's never been done in the history in our country.
“They were so close to winning four trophies. There’s been a slight change in terms of new players coming in, a few players moving on – but that’s natural of a club the size of Liverpool and certainly when they’ve had so much success for the last five or six years.
“There’s a little bit of a gap between themselves and Manchester City but they bridged that gap last season and I certainly hope from my point of view they can do it again!”
Anfield Watch Verdict
We completely agree with Carragher's take. As the pundit pointed out, Liverpool competed for the quadruple last season.
So, the Reds are a very capable side. But, there is no denying that they have struggled in the early parts of the 2022-23 campaign.
Liverpool will have to get going soon otherwise the season will pass them before they know it. We wish Klopp and his team all the very best for the remainder of the campaign.
Liverpool's next Premier League clash is against Brighton and Hove Albion at Anfield on the 1st of October.
Only time will tell if the Reds are to secure the three points.
