Next Liverpool manager: MAJOR Ruben Amorim decision revealed after West Ham meeting

Ruben Amorim will NOT be the coach of Liverpool or West Ham next season following his whistle stop private jet trip to the United Kingdom on Monday.

That’s according to the Portuguese daily, Record, which claims that the in-demand manager may even STAY with Sporting CP next season.

Amorim, 39, is under contract with the Lisbon giant until 2026 but there is a release clause contained in his current deal, which was renewed in 2022.

It is believed overseas clubs have the opportunity of signing Amorim for around €15 million and Liverpool - as well as West Ham - were reported to be keen on recruiting the 2020-21 Liga Portugal champion.

The ex-midfielder sparked a media FRENZY on Monday by taking a private flight to London alongside his agent

Amorim was heading for talks with West Ham over their managerial position, with David Moyes widely expected to depart at the end of the season.

Liverpool fans blindsided over West Ham meeting

That blindsided fans of Liverpool, who had been under the illusion that an appointment at Anfield was coming to fruition.

However, it was reported by David Ornstein of the Athletic that Amorim’s arrival on Merseyside was now deemed “unlikely” and Portuguese media have now followed suit.

Record claims that the only certainty at this stage over Amorim’s future is that he will NOT be on the bench for either Liverpool or West Ham and, moreover, he might not even end up in the Premier League whatsoever.

The paper claims that information has come from a source close to the manager.

It also confirmed that West Ham were trying to get in early in order to “seduce” the coach with a mammoth offer.

Those efforts, however, are now reported to have failed.

‘See you Saturday’ says Amorim with title imminent

Amorim arrived back in Lisbon early on Tuesday morning, greeted by a throng of Portuguese media representatives outside the airport.

“See you Saturday,” was the smiling coach’s only comment before climbing into a waiting car, with a pre-match press conference scheduled ahead of Sporting’s next fixture.

This weekend Sporting play Porto away from home in a vital Liga Portugal encounter, with the Lions now only two wins away from confirming the title.

They could even wrap it up this weekend at the home of their great rivals.
