Goal's Neil Jones has provided an update on the future of Liverpool winger Sadio Mane.

According to Jones, the Senegal international would like to sign a new deal at Anfield. However, Jones further added that Mane wants to be offered a salary which highlights that he is one of the world's best players.

The 29-year-old's contract expires in the summer of 2023.

The aforementioned news was cited by LFC Transfer Room's Twitter account.

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

We would love Mane to remain at Anfield. Liverpool signed the winger from Southampton for a transfer fee of €41.20 million back in July 2016.

Since then, Mane has scored 106 goals and registered 44 assists in 234 appearances for the Reds' first-team.

The Senegal international has also won four major trophies with Liverpool.

Mane, 29, has shown in the early stages of the 2021-22 club campaign that his career is far from over. The forward has been averaging a WhoScored player rating of 7.26.

Therefore, we would not be against the club offering Mane a lucrative long-term deal.
