Kostas Tsimikas has spoken about winning the Champions League after he helped Liverpool advance to the semi-finals of the competition.

Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com, as cited by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, the left-back said that Liverpool 'deserve' to win the Champions League this season.

"It’s my biggest dream to win the Champions League. It was one of my goals when I came here. I want it really so much. I will work hard with the boys to really achieve this. We deserve it with all the work we do every day. We’ll go for it," said Tsimikas.

"We train really, really hard and we work very, very hard. We show every game – no matter who is playing – we have the same goals: to win the games, to play, to have the performances and to win."

Anfield Watch Verdict

'The Greek Scouser' had probably his best game in a Liverpool shirt last night. His two assists and overall performance are a massive reason why Liverpool are in the semi-finals of the Champions League.

Speaking about his performance after the game, Tsimikas said that he was 'very happy'.

"I’m very, very happy. I’m very happy for the two assists. My hard work pays off. This gives me extra motivation to keep working hard and do exactly that, play for this team. I always enjoy it when I play for this family. I’m very happy."

It's great to see Tsimikas thriving at Liverpool. He had a tough first season at the club but this campaign he has become a fan favourite and he's clearly a big personality in the dressing room.

Unfortunately for him, he has the best left-back in world football ahead of him but luckily, with Liverpool now having a squad capable of challenging on every front, he's still going to get more than enough game time in a red shirt!
