Liverpool's newest signing Darwin Nunez has praised the club's forward line.

Speaking to Livepoolfc.com in his first interview as a Red, as quoted by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, the striker said that he's excited to play with the likes of Roberto Firmino, Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah.

“Roberto Firmino is a great player, Jota is another great striker, Luis Diaz, Salah, to play with these monsters is a dream," said Nunez.

"To play alongside these 'monsters' is going to be something really special for me because as a kid you dream of going far and I dreamt of being able to play in Europe, but I didn't expect to get as far as a great club like Liverpool.

"I can tell you, I'm really enjoying it so far and enjoying being here with my partner. If my partner is happy, I am happier because your family is fundamental. So, there will be a lot of competition between the forwards here, but it will be healthy competition."

Anfield Watch Verdict

Nunez will definitely be in and around the starting XI next season. You don't spend €100 million on a forward and put him on the bench.

I would expect him to come straight in and play alongside Diaz and Salah.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp may change his system next year to a 4-2-3-1 (normally plays 4-3-3), something he has tried in the past. But, he has never possessed the out-and-out striker to consistently play the formation.

Now that Nunez has joined, I've got a feeling the aforementioned system will be one Klopp trials during pre-season.

Whatever happens, the 22-year-old seems to very excited to play for Liverpool and that's all we can ask for. He's still a young lad, but he clearly has the determination and passion to become one of the best players in the world.

If he listens to Klopp, then he will be on his way there in no time.
