Mohamed Salah and his world-leading durability has been put into numbers. Liverpool have been incredibly fortunate.

Mohamed Salah leads the Premier League in appearances since his debut for Liverpool back in 2017. In fact, the Egyptian has played more games across all competitions than any other player in that time.

The Times shows off the data as they go in-depth on Salah's durability. He's played 231 Premier League games since August 2017, one more than Jordan Pickford in second. Manchester City's Ederson is third - and it's quite telling for a stat like this that two of the top three are goalkeepers.

David de Gea, currently without a club, would have been joint-third if he'd remained in the English top flight this season. Instead, James Tarkowski is fourth, followed by Lewis Dunk. Both are centre-backs and again, this is a stat that you'd expect low-impact positions to dominate.

But they can't catch Salah in top spot, despite the fact he plays in one of the most high-impact positions, on one of the most high-impact teams. The only players on the list in the Egyptian's profile are Son Hueung-Min, Bernardo Silva and Richarlison - but none are within 11 Premier League games of him.

It is, of course, completely remarkable that Salah can play this regularly. Liverpool fans know all too well how it can go the other way - players like Daniel Sturridge and Fernando Torres were held back by being too absent throughout their tenures.

In Salah, though, Liverpool found one of the world's greatest players who pretty inexplicably can avoid injuries almost entirely. The Reds had no idea he'd be at the level he has been, let alone that they'd have essentially the only player of that quality who can also remain fit every week.

Liverpool couldn't have been more fortunate with Salah. A now legendary player and one who impresses in just about every way.
