Mohamed Salah's resurgence is down to major arrival at Liverpool this summer

There has been new arrival at Liverpool under new head coach Arne Slot and Mohamed Salah is reaping the benefits.

The Reds superstar wasn't at his best towards the end of the 2023/24 campaign, but a break in the summer has done him the world of good. Looking sharp in pre-season, he carried that form into the Premier League opener against Ipswich Town on Saturday afternoon.

Claiming the assist for Diogo Jota to break the deadlock on the hour mark, Salah then got on the scoresheet five minutes later and made history in the process by moving ahead of Alan Shearer, Wayne Rooney and Frank Lampard for goals scored on the first day of a new season.

Such a display surely bodes well for a productive season and it has been revealed one of the reasons behind the 32-year-old's happy demeanour is a newly-built coffee bar just inside the players’ entrance at the training ground.

Salah is revitalised

As per The Athletic, the coffee bar was introduced during the summer and has been installed to encourage the players to socialise together and Salah - whose love for coffee is well-documented - is one of the regulars as he spends time with the likes of Kostas Tsimikas, Dominik Szoboszlai and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Time will tell as to just how long the Egyptian international is a regular at Liverpool's new coffee bar as his contract expires next summer and the aforementioned report states so far there's no sign of a new deal being offered.

Whilst it is well-known that the Merseyside outfit owners - Fenway Sports Group (FSG) are cautious about giving lucrative extensions to players in their 30s, Slot doesn't believe Salah is showing any signs of slowing down just yet.

"If I see what he does to keep his body as it is and to be ready to play every game, I think there are many more years inside of him to play," the Dutchman said after the 2-0 win at Portman Road.

"But, if you're OK with it, I am looking now at Brentford and not at the end of the season!"
