Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Mohamed Salah is not willing to accept the current contract offer on the table from Liverpool.

It looks like the Salah contract situation has taken a turn for the worse over the past 24 hours.

The reliable transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported that Salah and his agent have 'no intention' to sign the current Liverpool contract offer that is on the table.

Romano also claims that talks have been broken down since December and no progress has been made since then.

However, the report does go on to say that the Egyptian's priority is to remain at Liverpool, just not under the current conditions.

Anfield Watch Verdict

What a mess of a situation yesterday's news was. Firstly, Jurgen Klopp addressed the current situation regarding Salah's contract by saying that there has been no progress but that there is 'no rush'.

"Nothing further has happened, Mo hasn't signed or rejected or whatever, we just have to wait. It is all completely fine. There is no rush," said Klopp.

However, after the press conference and Klopp's comments on Salah's contract, the Egyptian's agent, Ramy Abbas Issa, seemed to respond to the German's comments with laughing faces on his Twitter page.

Liverpool fans are starting to get fed up with Mo's agent publicly tweeting cryptic tweets and seemingly leaking stuff to the press.

Does Salah deserve a better contract? Of course. Should Salah be demanding a crazy amount that could destroy the wage structure that Liverpool have worked so hard on? Absolutely not.

Mo has talked a lot about how much he loves the club and the fans but with his agent making a mockery of the situation and no transparency from the club, it's getting the fanbase very frustrated.

Hopefully, the Egyptian can speak on the situation himself after the game against Brighton today so we don't have to rely on his agent's cryptic tweets.
