Mo Salah won't leave Liverpool in January as Saudi interest lurks

It shouldn't come as a surprise to hear that Liverpool aren't going to let Mohamed Salah leave in January.

The Egyptian, as usual, has been on fire for the Reds so far this season, topping Liverpool's goalscoring charts with 12 in 17 games.

However, since the tail-end of the summer transfer window, there's been a cloud over his future - Saudi Arabia are sniffing around, having already offered an eyewatering £150m for Salah, only for the proposal to be met by resounding Liverpool rejection.

That won't seem to put off Saudi interest, though, and it almost seems an inevitability that another big-money offer will soon rear its head for the 31-year-old.

Fabrizio Romano has given an update on the Salah saga - confirming that there are no signs that Liverpool's star winger will be on the move in January.

“In January I see him staying, absolutely. I see him staying, I see Mo Salah being a part of the Liverpool project,” Romano told Kick.

“Absolutely, nothing to mention on that. I don’t think anything can happen in the January transfer window.

“At the moment the message from Liverpool is the same as we had in the summer, Liverpool want to count on Mo Salah, he’s an absolutely crucial player for them.

“Remember that when they received important approaches from Mo Salah in the summer, in the final days of the European transfer market Saudi offered a package worth around £150m, an incredible amount of money for Mo Salah, and in that case, Liverpool said no, so I don’t see them selling the player in the middle of the season, a very important season for Liverpool.

“They are still there fighting to win the Premier League, doing very well in the Europa League, so it’s a positive season for Liverpool. I don’t see them ruining it by selling Mo Salah in January. In the summer we will see, but in January I think it will be really complicated.”

You have to think that no matter the offer, there's absolutely zero chance Jurgen Klopp would sanction a mid-season move for his reliable goal-poacher.
