Mo Salah to join Champions League RIVAL if Liverpool can’t strike deal
Liverpool star Mo Salah will aim to join a UEFA Champions League rival if he can’t agree on terms with the Reds. He’s out of contract next summer.
Things are really coming to head at Liverpool. The contracts of Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold all expire at the end of June.
But that’s not really the deadline here. All three are able to agree to deals either non-English clubs from January 1st - under two months, in other words.

They can’t move in the New Year without Liverpool’s approval but they can sign pre-contracts. And it sounds as though Salah, at least, is weighing up potential options there.
A report from Masrawy in Egypt claims that Salah would prefer a move to Paris Saint-Germain if he doesn’t sign a new contract with Liverpool. There are no talks with Saudi Arabian clubs, despite the interest there, and the Reds’ star man has a preference, it seems, to remain in elite European football.
Mo Salah would pick PSG
It’s worth adding that Salah’s preference remains a renewal of his Liverpool contract. He’s not seeking an exit.
But the Reds aren’t competing with Saudi Arabia in talks. They’re needing to beat what PSG can offer - which is a lot of money, and a genuine shot at the Champions League.
After all, PSG with Salah would be a dangerous force. He’s exactly the kind of forward they’ve lacked over the last few years - a determined, creative, goalscoring force.
Hopefully, Liverpool can lock him down as we’re eager to see him remain at Anfield for a few years yet. Salah is still one of the world’s greatest players and every game sees him boost his standing on the list of the Reds all-time greats.
