Mo Salah is right on the brink of overtaking Thierry Henry on the Premier League all-time list. And he could do it for Liverpool as they take on Arsenal at the Emirates.

That opens the door pretty wide for Mo Salah to make another magnificent step in Premier League history: overtaking Thierry Henry on an all-time list.

Both Salah and Henry are on 74 Premier League assists. They actually share that number with Ashley Young, though the latter has featured in many more Premier League fixtures.

One from Salah, then, and he moves outright into 13th place. And he can do it on Henry's turf

Salah can overtake Henry

This is exactly the kind of thing that Daniel Sturridge, a former teammate of Salah's, talked about last week. He explained the drive in the Egyptian to overtake truly legendary stars and cement his legacy among them.

“Looking at Thierry [Henry] and those types of guys, players he’s idolised as well, I do believe he’s got an eye on them and thinking ‘you know what? If I can go down as having more goals than someone like Thierry Henry…’," Sturridge told Sky Sports.

"I mean come on man, then we can look at him like the GOAT."

Sturridge was actually talking about Salah aiming for Henry's spot on the all-time scoring charts - he's 13 behind him. But the Liverpool man could overtake his assist record today.

Doing so would leave Teddy Sheringham and Christian Eriksen in his sights: both are on 76. After that? It's the top 10, with David Beckham on 80.

Just how far can Salah go then? Before the season is out he may well be Premier League top 10 all-time in both goals and assists. And he could climb above Henry on each list.
