There's a strong appetite from fans of the club to bring in new signings, with the last couple of windows being a little lacklustre. However, there is an even stronger appetite for the Reds to renew with their key trio.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk all have expiring deals come the end of the season.

All three of them are free to negotiate with clubs from abroad over a free transfer away from Anfield. However, all three are still in negotiation with Liverpool at the moment and nothing is off the table.

With the Reds, we know a lot of the times it's about the questions of finances. Liverpool are a lot more conservative in their spendings compared to other clubs.

But with another €100m coming in for Liverpool, the Reds have been given a huge boost in their endeavours.

Champions League payday can fund Liverpool contract renewals

If the impasse between Liverpool's contract situation is over fiscal matters, Liverpool's mega earnings from the Champions League might be able to fix that.

Swiss Ramble has reported that Liverpool are set to earn €100m as per his calculations from their performances in the Champions League so far.

According to Sportsrac Salah earns €17.5m from his current wages at Liverpool so in theory an added €100m should be more than enough to fund a three year contract extension which is what Anfield Watch understands the Egyptian is looking for.

This would total €52.5m giving plenty left from the €100m to fund into the contract negotiations of Alexander-Arnold and Van Dijk as well with Van Dijk earning €13.7m and Alexander-Arnold earning €11.2m per year.

Of course, we understand that things don't exactly work in this way. There are other things to consider when it comes to the club's finances.

But given such a massive cash injection into the club, and likely more to follow if Liverpool continue their great form in the Champions League and the Premier League, it makes no sense to dither on contracts.

The Reds should have plenty of money to be able to afford keeping all three and to continue to be competitive in the market. Arguably, it would probably cost Liverpool more to try and replace the trio rather than to tie them down to new deals.

The extra money coming in from the Champions League just opens the door for Liverpool to be able to do everything a lot more comfortably financially speaking.

There should be no excuses left for not keeping Salah, Van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold at Anfield.
