"Making my debut was special" - Trent Alexander-Arnold opens up

Right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has spoken about his Liverpool first-team debut.

Back in October 2016, the Scouser made his first appearance for the club's senior XI in the fourth round of the League Cup against Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield. Liverpool won the aforementioned fixture 2-1.

Since then, Alexander-Arnold has gone on to make a further 216 appearances for the Reds.

The 23-year-old is a defender by trade, but he is very good going forward. Alexander-Arnold has scored 12 goals and registered 61 assists for Liverpool.

The full-back has also won the Champions League, Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, Premier League title and League Cup with the Reds.

However, Alexander-Arnold has revealed that making his Liverpool debut is his finest ever moment.

"Making my debut was special - it was the most special moment for me," he told LiverpoolFC.com, as quoted by Anfield Watch's Twitter account.

"Just playing that game - the pride - my family in the crowd - nobody can take that away from me. Working so hard for that one moment was worth it."

Anfield Watch Verdict

Alexander-Arnold grew up supporting Liverpool so it is not hard to see why he cherishes his first-team debut.

We absolutely love watching the youngster in action. The threat that Alexander-Arnold offers from right-back is something that we have not seen at Anfield before.

As we have already pointed out, the Scouser has already achieved so much. But, because Alexander-Arnold is only 23 years of age, he still has plenty of time left in his career to add to what he has already accomplished.

Also, there is no reason why Alexander-Arnold can't captain the club one day. It would be brilliant to see a local lad lead the Reds again.

Steven Gerrard was the last Scouser to do so (2003-15).
