'Makes me vomit' - Man City fans react to referee controversy in Liverpool win

Liverpool appeared to be on the better end of shoddy officiating after nicking a goal late on to beat Nottingham Forest 1-0.

During the crucial final moments in the game, Forest were in a dangerous position when Paul Tierney paused play for a head injury to Ibrahima Konate.

Upon Konate's recovery, Tierney decided that Reds keeper Caoimhin Kelleher should restart the game with an uncontested drop ball - despite the fact it was the home side that were in possession of the ball when the whistle was blown.

From that, Liverpool went up the other end to score a dramatic 99th minute winner, with Darwin Nunez heading home to send the City Ground away end into bedlam.

Many have voiced their outrage at Tierney's decision to award Liverpool possession - from Match of the Day pundits Alan Shearer and Jermaine Jenas, to Forest's own 'referee analyst' Mark Clattenberg.

And as fans of a team who have many a time been on the wrong side of refereeing ineptitude, you can more than understand their frustration.

That said, supporters of Liverpool's main title rivals have decided to give their take on the situation, with City fans taking to the Blue Moon forums to express their sheer uncontrolled rage.

It's very funny reading.

One slightly unhinged post reads: "Their goal times at 98 minutes 38 seconds. Would anyone care to offer an explanation as to why eight minutes were announced and they were given an extra 38 seconds in which to steal the three points?

"Unless it be that it simply been decided that Liverpool have to win this title. Make me vomit.

"Well, I say FUCK IT! Fuck that team, fuck their semi-bestial supporters, fuck the refs who ref them differently to everyone else, fuck the powers that be and the media who are complicit with this foregone conclusion.

"Let's go to Anfield and win it there, lads."

Odd to hear City fans, who's club faces 115 charges of financial doping across their entire era of glory, imply that they have been the victim of corruption and cheating.

Regardless, inject those tears into my veins. Delightful stuff.
