'Mad' - Bobby Clark reveals bench reaction to Darwin Nunez winner

Bobby Clark has revealed that the Liverpool bench went into bedlam when Darwin Nunez headed in a 99th minute winner against Nottingham Forest.

After five previous top-flight appearances as a substitute, Clark was handed his full Premier League debut at the City Ground as Liverpool came out 1-0 victors.

This was courtesy of a late Nunez goal, latching onto Alexis Mac Allister's cross to score with what was effectively the last touch of the game.

A massive win and a potentially crucial three points in the context of the title race, there's no surprise to how the Reds substitutes bench reacted.

"It's mad," said Clark. "I always had the feeling we would do something with the top players we have got on the pitch.

"Alexis with the calmness at the end and Darwin putting it in, it was top. Every day I'm learning off the other players, especially [Alexis] in my position and what he did at the end was special.

"It was a great way for it to end. Obviously I was grateful to get my first start in the Premier League. When I came off, things were out of my control but I knew something was coming and that late winner was top."

It was only Clark's second start in a Liverpool shirt, having been in the starting XI alongside fellow academy graduates Jayden Danns and Lewis Koumas against Southampton in the FA Cup three days prior.

He added: "It's really special as I have been playing with them in the youth team over the last few seasons, and seeing them score the other day and all be involved again [at Forest], it's really good.

"I do feel as though I'm taking it in my stride, but it all comes from the gaffer and all the players. They fill you with confidence and let you do your thing. If you don't have a manager like that, it's going to be much harder."
