Luis Diaz strike nominated for Premier League Goal of the Month – August

Luis Diaz's inventive strike against Bournemouth has been nominated for the Premier League's first Goal of the Month award of the season.

Diaz joins seven others on the shortlist for the August prize, with fans now able to cast their vote for the Colombian.

Liverpool's new number seven has enjoyed a fine start to the 2023/24 season, scoring in the Reds' first two outings of the season against Chelsea and Bournemouth.

It is the latter effort that earned Diaz his place on the Premier League's list, with the former Porto star setting himself up for an acrobatic volley after a pass from Diogo Jota.

Fans can vote for Diaz to win the award on the Premier League's website, where it is stipulated that: "fans, have until 12:00 BST on Monday 11 September to vote for your favourite from the shortlist.

"The winner will be chosen by the supporters' votes combined with the choices from a panel of experts, and will be revealed next week."
