PHOTO: The incredible height difference between Luis Diaz's dad & Erling Haaland
As has become custom at games in recent weeks, Luis Diaz's father was in attendance for Liverpool's 1-1 clash with Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday.
Luis Manuel Diaz, nicknamed 'Mane', has become a regular at Reds matches this season, following his kidnapping ordeal at the end of last year.
The Colombian winger's father was held for 12 days by guerilla group ELN in his homeland, having been abducted outside a petrol station by armed men on motorbikes.
Since his release on 9 November, Diaz Snr has become a regular fixture at his son's games in England and is regularly picked out by broadcasters (often in the same short-sleeve kit with gloves combo as Liverpool's No. 7) during television coverage.
Mane sightings have also become popular with Liverpool fans, with Diaz's dad even turning into something of an unlikely social media sensation — who even appears in TikTok dances.
Papa Diaz was in attendance once again at Anfield for the pulsating 1-1 draw with City this Sunday, where he witnessed his son put in an incredible shift on the left wing up against Kyle Walker.
Unfortunately, he was unable to be filmed celebrating a winning goal for junior, but he still managed to go viral after the final whistle thanks to a remarkable selfie with City forward Erling Haaland.
The 6ft 4in (194cm) striker was snapped next to Mr Diaz fully showcasing the difference in the two men's statures.
Even with Haaland leaning for the photo, the diminutive Diaz barely reaches the badge on the chest of the City star's tracksuit and the pair resemble a very old-fashioned big-man-little-man strike partnership.
We can only hope for more of this content in the coming months.
It's just a shame Liverpool have already played Newcastle twice and there's no opportunity for a Dan Burn selfie before the end of the season.
