Luis Diaz will reportedly avoid punishment from the FA for his goal celebration in Luton Town 1-1 Liverpool.

The Daily Mail reports that Luis Diaz will not face any action from the FA after revealing a personal message on his shirt in celebration of his goal against Luton Town. The Colombian played the final 10 minutes at Kenilworth Road and scored an equaliser for Liverpool.

In doing so, Diaz partially lifted his shirt to reveal a message saying 'Libertad para Papa', or 'Freedom for Papa' in English. This is in reference to his father's ongoing false imprisonment in Colombia.

Luis Manuel Diaz, along with his wife Cilenis Marulanda, was kidnapped at gunpoint over a week ago by Colombian militant organisation ELN. While Celenis was quickly released, Luis Manuel remains missing.

Liverpool's Diaz had missed the last few games because of the situation. His appearance against Luton was something of a surprise - let alone the fact that he managed to score in the game.

Diaz ran a risk of punishment by revealing a message on his shirt, however, as personal messages on undershirts are banned. However, the Daily Mail claims there will be no action.

They cite 'exceptional circumstances', along with Diaz not actually revealing the entire message, as reasons for why there won't be any punishment.

Honestly, it would have been quite shocking if he'd received a yellow card for the moment - let alone if the FA went out of their way to do something retroactively. We're glad common sense is prevailing.

Diaz released a full statement on his father on Sunday - the first time he's done so since the kidnapping.

“Every second, every minute our anxiety grows,” he said. “My mother, my brothers and I are desperate, anxious and have no words to describe what we are feeling. This suffering will only end when we have him home with us."

We can only hope that everyone gets the right ending from here. It's hard to imagine what Diaz and his family are going through each day, and we join everyone else in supporting them as they wait for the moment they're praying for.
