Liverpool's predicted lineup for the Champions League final vs Real Madrid
Liverpool play Real Madrid in the Champions League final on Saturday and with some injury worries, we could see a different side than what we're expecting.
Below is our predicted Liverpool XI for the clash.
Alisson - Goalkeeper
A no-brainer. Alisson is the best goalkeeper in the world and he's been one of our most consistent players this season.
With Karim Benzema in a crazy run of form, we are going to have to rely on the Brazilian at least once to bail us out of a sticky situation.
Trent Alexander-Arnold - Right-back
As things stand, Liverpool possess the best right-back in the world. Alexander-Arnold has been on top form once again this season, racking up 19 assists in all competitions.
Hopefully he can pop up with another one in the Champions League final.
Ibrahima Konate - Centre-back
This position is a bit of a toss-up. Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp could either start Joel Matip or Konate. Either way, both players have been great this season.
I'd personally go with the Frenchman because he can help Alexander-Arnold deal with the pace of Vinicius Jr.
Virgil van Dijk - Centre-back
Van Dijk is the best centre-back in the world. Injury is the only thing that would stop the Dutchman from starting. Luckily, Van Dijk has confirmed that he is fully fit ahead of Saturday's game. Hopefully, it stays that way.
Andy Robertson - Left-back
Even though Kostas Tsimikas has been great this season, Robertson is still the best left-back in the world.
Despite not speaking Spanish, the Scottish international has struck a great partnership with Luis Diaz on the left-hand side. The duo could cause Real Madrid's defence some problems.
Fabinho - Midfield
With the news that Fabinho is set to be fit to play a part in the Champions League final, I think that Klopp will risk it and start him in the holding role.
The Brazilian is so key to our chances of winning and with Real Madrid set to play a midfield three of Casemiro, Toni Kroos and Luka Modric, Fabinho will need to be there to help break up the play.
Hopefully he can feature for the entire 90 minutes, but if not, then even having him available for at least an hour is going to be a huge bonus.
Jordan Henderson - Midfield
Henderson has to play this game. He's the leader and a crucial voice in our side. He will do everything to guide Liverpool to their seventh Champions League trophy.
Naby Keita - Midfield
With Thiago Alcantara picking up an achilles injury in the final game of the Premier League season against Wolves, I don't expect him to start on Saturday.
This means that Naby Keita will definitely play in my eyes. The Guinea captain has had his best season in a Liverpool shirt and his performances this campaign have held him in good stead to start the final.
Mohamed Salah - Forward
Even though Salah has had a tough few months since returning from the Africa Cup of Nations, his quality is still there.
Hopefully he can show Real Madrid why he's one of the best players in the world and play a key part in the most important game of the season.
Sadio Mane
Mane has been revitalised since Klopp put him in his new false nine position. In the Senegal international's last two Premier League games starting up front, he has scored two goals.
If he can drop deep and cause havoc to the Real Madrid midfield, then it will benefit both Salah and Diaz hugely, as they will have more space to work with.
Luis Diaz
Diaz has arguably been Liverpool's best player since January and to think that he only joined the club that month is crazy.
Diaz's direct, fast and aggressive style seems to catch so many people out and with him being up against Dani Carvajal on the weekend, I expect him to make a big impact on the game from that left-wing position.
One final game. We need to back whatever side is on the team sheet come Saturday evening, even if we don't agree with it.
Klopp knows who is ready to start in the Champions League final and he will believe with his whole heart that those players can win it for Liverpool.
