Liverpool's lineup for Carabao Cup quarter-final against West Ham – Predicted

Liverpool will be hoping to put a disappointing goalless draw with Manchester United behind them this Wednesday when they welcome West Ham to Anfield in the Carabao Cup quarter-final.

The Reds have beaten Leicester City and Bournemouth en route to the final eight, but will now face their toughest test yet when David Moyes' Irons arrive on Merseyside midweek.

Having edged past Lincoln City in the third round, West Ham knocked Arsenal out in their last cup clash to set up a date with Liverpool. The Irons have won their last two games in all competitions, beating Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-0 on Sunday.

Jurgen Klopp has some big decisions to make ahead of Wednesday's clash with the Reds' injury list growing by the week, the German needing a response from his players after the bore draw with Man Utd.

Here is how Liverpool could line up against West Ham in the Carabao Cup quarter-final.

DEFENSIVE ROTATION

Klopp may choose to rest a few of his starting defenders midweek, not that they were forced to do to much running by Man Utd's forwards. The Liverpool boss might go for a nice blend of experience and fresh legs, with Caoimhin Kelleher likely to retain his place as the Reds' cup goalkeeper.

Trent Alexander-Arnold is also likely to be given a breather, with Joe Gomez potentially stepping in at right-back. On the other side, Andy Robertson's injury means that Kostas Tsimikas is almost guaranteed a start.

The impressive Jarell Quansah, fresh from his first goal for the club against Union Saint-Gilloise, could be offered another chance to shine on the big stage, perhaps partnering captain Virgil van Dijk.

Joel Matip's season-ending injury and the utilisation of Gomez at full-back has left Liverpool a little short in the heart of defence.

MIDFIELD INJURIES

With Ryan Gravenberch seemingly having joined an injury list that already contains Alexis Mac Allister, Thiago and Stefan Bajcetic, Klopp may also find himself light in midfield.

The Dutchman limped off against Man Utd with Klopp unsure on the severity of his issue. The summer signing is almost certain to be absent for West Ham's visit.

Dominik Szoboszlai, who dropped a stinker against Man Utd, needs another rest, with Harvey Elliott likely to take his place on the right side of Liverpool's midfield three.

Wataru Endo is Liverpool's only senior option in the number six role, with the Japan international likely to start against the Irons. He could well be joined by Curtis Jones, who has struggled to make an impact this season.

MISFIRING FORWARDS

It's fair to say that none of Liverpool's four fit attackers are in good form at present, Diogo Jota's injury wreaking havoc on Klopp's plans.

Mohamed Salah will likely start on Wednesday regardless, the Egyptian capable of producing moments of magic even in his more underwhelming spells.

Luis Diaz has also been misfiring lately, struggling to regain the form and explosiveness he exhibited before his long-term injury last season. However, the Colombian is likely to start yet again given the Reds' lack of options.

Darwin Nunez is now without a goal since the Carabao Cup fourth round and has been in pretty desperate form, meaning Cody Gakpo, who hasn't been pulling up trees himself, could get the nod.
