Liverpool's next five Premier League games compared to Man City & Arsenal
Following one of the biggest games of the season for the Reds on Sunday, Liverpool will now have to wait three weeks before returning to Premier League action.
The Reds managed a 1-1 draw with title rivals Manchester City at Anfield this weekend, a result which means they have surrendered their place at the top of the table for the time being.
It was an impressive performance from Jurgen Klopp's side, who will rue some big missed opportunities in the second half.
While it could prove decisive in the race to be crowned champions, there are plenty of challenging fixtures left to play for all three sides vying for the crown.
Here is how the Reds' current schedule compares to their title rivals Man City and Arsenal.
LIVERPOOL'S NEXT FIVE PREMIER LEAGUE GAMES
After an exhilarating draw with Man City that saw Liverpool slip to second in the table, the Reds now have some time away from Premier League duties.
The Reds face the second leg of the Europa League last 16 against Sparta Prague this Thursday - in which they boast a 5-1 aggregate lead heading to Anfield - and an away trip to Manchester United in the FA Cup quarter-final next weekend.
Club football will then take a pause for the March international break, with Liverpool returning to Premier League action with a home clash against Brighton on the last day of the month,
The Seagulls' patchy form will offer the Reds hope of a more comfortable afternoon than they enjoyed at the Amex Stadium earlier this season, with Klopp's men then facing what appears a straightforward clash with Sheffield United at Anfield several days later.
After the midweek match-up with the Blades, Liverpool have what always tends to be a tricky trip to Old Trafford to face Man Utd in the Premier League - a fixture that could prove pivotal in the title picture.
The Reds then return to Anfield in mid-April as they take on Oliver Glasner's new-look Crystal Palace in what should be another straightforward victory.
- Everton vs Liverpool - Sunday, 17 March
- Liverpool vs Brighton - Sunday, 31 March
- Liverpool vs Sheffield United - Wednesday, 3 April
- Man Utd vs Liverpool - Sunday, 7 April
- Liverpool vs Crystal Palace - Sunday, 14 April
MAN CITY'S NEXT FIVE PREMIER LEAGUE GAMES
Man City face a gargantuan clash when they return from the international break as Pep Guardiola's side host Arsenal. The two title challengers will go head-to-head at the Etihad, with Liverpool needing to capitalise on any dropped points.
The Cityzens then face another testing fixture several days later, with Unai Emery's Aston Villa travelling to Manchester. The Midlands side are not as impressive as they were earlier this season, but still have the capacity to spring a surprise.
The champions then travel to Crystal Palace the following weekend, a fixture in which they have notoriously struggled in recent years - including surrendering a two-goal lead at home to the Eagles earlier this term.
A fairly simplistic match-up against Luton comes afterwards before a challenging trip to north London to face Tottenham - another side that has troubled Guardiola's City over the years.
- Man City vs Arsenal - Sunday, 31 March
- Man City vs Aston Villa - Wednesday, 3 April
- Crystal Palace vs Man City - Saturday, 6 April
- Man City vs Luton Town - Saturday, 13 April
- Tottenham vs Man City - Saturday, 20 April
ARSENAL'S NEXT FIVE PREMIER LEAGUE GAMES
Arsenal won't be relishing a trip to the Etihad after the international break and could be out of the Champions League by then should they fail to overturn a one-goal deficit against Porto this week.
While the Gunners could easily drop points against Man City, they should enjoy a more comfortable afternoon evening against Luton the following Wednesday.
Mikel Arteta's side then make the tricky journey down to Brighton, with the Seagulls far more impressive on home soil this season.
Next up it's a visit from former Arsenal manager Emery and his Villa side as they hunt down Champions League qualification, followed by a trip to the Midlands to face Gary O'Neil's stubborn Wolves.
- Man City vs Arsenal - Sunday, 31 March
- Arsenal vs Luton Town - Wednesday, 3 April
- Brighton vs Arsenal - Saturday, 6 April
- Arsenal vs Aston Villa - Saturday, 13 April
- Wolves vs Arsenal - Saturday, 20 April
