Liverpool's Europa League last 16 opponents revealed
Liverpool will face Sparta Prague in the Europa League last 16 following Friday's draw in Switzerland.
The Reds moved directly into the round of 16 after finishing top of their Europa League group, meaning they avoided a potentially complicated last 32 tie against a Champions League dropout.
Jurgen Klopp's side now know they will come up against the Czech side in the next round, having played Sparta Prague only twice before in the Europa League 2010/11 round of 32.
Sparta beat the impressive Galatasaray 6-4 on aggregate in the last 32, but appear to be one of the more favourable sides the Reds could have drawn.
Liverpool avoided the likes of Milan, Roma, Marseille and Benfica, as well as a clash against Ruben Amorim's Sporting CP.
Both legs of the last 16 will take place next month, the first on 7 March and the second on 14 March prior to the international break.
Liverpool have never won the competition under Jurgen Klopp, but did make the final in his first campaign at Anfield, losing 3-1 to Europa League royalty Sevilla.
The Reds will be hopeful of seeing some of their injured personnel return to action by the time the last 16 first leg comes around in several weeks.
