The first half of the 2023/24 season couldn't have gone much better for Liverpool supporters.

The Reds currently sit top of the Premier League table by two points having lost just once in the competition, while they breezed through their Europa League group with little fuss.

Jurgen Klopp's side are also one match away from the Carabao Cup final, as well as having beaten record winners Arsenal in the third round of the FA Cup at the Emirates Stadium.

There have been some pretty memorable matches along the way and with them have come some exquisite goals.

Liverpool have scored a range of excellent strikes this season, including solo stunners, long-range worldies and beautifully-crafted team goals.

Here are Liverpool's best ten goals of the season so far -ranked.

10. DOMINIK SZOBOSZLAI VS ASTON VILLA

It hasn't taken Dominik Szoboszlai too long to score a few bangers for the Reds, but his first strike for the club came in Liverpool's 3-0 victory over Aston Villa back in September.

There were just three minutes on the clock when a corner was curled into the penalty area in front of the Anfield Road Stand, the ball finding its way to the Hungarian on the edge of the box.

With a swing of his rocket-powered right boot, Szoboszlai thrashed an effort beyond Emiliano Martinez into the far corner, the ball swerving viciously on the way into the back of the net.

It was the first of four Liverpool strikes for the summer signing to date, all of which have been lovely finishes.

9. TRENT ALEXANDER-ARNOLD VS MANCHESTER CITY

While not the most technically challenging goal Liverpool have scored this season - or indeed in this specific game - Trent Alexander-Arnold's winner against Fulham in the 88th minute at Anfield was a moment to savour.

In a bizarre 4-3 clash, Alexander-Arnold's well-taken half-volley flew beyond Bernd Leno from the edge of the area, a result that has ultimately kept Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table as things stand.

The right-back's excellent first-half free kick against the Cottagers had given Liverpool the lead, albeit the strike went down as a Leno own goal after the ball ricocheted off the bar and the German on its way in.

Alexander-Arnold had also scored a vital and impressive equaliser just a week earlier away at Manchester City.

8. HARVEY ELLIOTT VS CRYSTAL PALACE

It's fair to say that Harvey Elliott maybe should have one or two more goals in a Liverpool shirt, especially when you see how sweetly he can strike a ball.

The youngster's technical prowess was on full show against Crystal Palace in early December, Elliott proving Liverpool's match-winner at Selhurst Park.

The Reds had gone a goal down to Jean-Philippe Mateta's penalty, with Mohamed Salah's deflected strike bringing Liverpool level following Jordan Ayew's red card.

As Liverpool pushed and pushed for all three points, it was Elliott who proved the decisive factor, his brilliant left-footed strike from the edge of the area winning it for the Reds as the clock hit 90 minutes.

7. DARWIN NUNEZ VS NEWCASTLE

Liverpool's season looked as if it was going to get off to a mediocre start when Virgil van Dijk saw red at Newcastle United, the Reds already a goal down courtesy of an Alexander-Arnold error.

However, Darwin Nunez had other ideas. The super sub came on to the pitch with just thirteen minutes to play, looking to exploit any spaces left in behind the Magpies' defence.

The Uruguayan scored just four minutes later, capitalising on Sven Botman's error and slamming a composed finish past Nick Pope. Suddenly, the Reds had a point to hold on to.

But Nunez wasn't done there. In stoppage-time, Salah sent the striker through on goal with a lovely through ball, the South American producing another cool finish beyond Nick Pope to pull off an incredible comeback at St James' Park.

While the first was a more accomplished finish, Nunez's second makes the list for its significance.

6. MOHAMED SALAH VS ARSENAL

This strike is not only about the goal, but the pass that created it.

With Liverpool one down to title rivals Arsenal at Anfield in the Premier League just before Christmas, there was pressure on the Reds to respond.

That they did just before the half-an-hour mark, Alexander-Arnold setting Salah away down Liverpool's right with a perfectly weighted ball in behind Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Salah then fronted the Ukrainian defender up as he edged into the box, cutting in on his favoured left foot and unleashing a powerful near-post drive beyond David Raya.

While the Reds couldn't secure all three points in the end, Salah's strike could still prove pivotal come the end of the season.

5. WATARU ENDO VS FULHAM

Wataru Endo has firmly established himself as a fan favourite in recent weeks, the Japan international exhibiting his quality when Liverpool needed him most against Fulham.

The Reds found themselves 3-2 down with 87 minutes played, but substitute Endo would find a crucial equaliser with three minutes to play.

Salah laid the ball back to the midfielder on the edge of the area, Endo planting the ball perfectly into Leno's left-hand top corner with aplomb.

It was a finish of supreme quality and one that Liverpool fans may not have known Endo had in his locker.

With Alexander-Arnold grabbing the winner a minute later, the significance of Endo's goal cannot be underestimated.

4. DARWIN NUNEZ VS WEST HAM

One of the most elegant goals Liverpool have scored this season, there was a South American link-up at Anfield during Liverpool's 3-1 Premier League victory over West Ham earlier this season.

With the game tied, Alexis Mac Allister scooped an exquisite chipped through ball in behind the Hammers' backline, Nunez latching on to it and volleying home with perhaps uncharacteristic composure.

It was a delightful move, with Mac Allister registering his first Liverpool assist.

For Nunez, it was another example of the quality he can provide in the opposition box.

3. DARWIN NUNEZ VS BOURNEMOUTH

Liverpool may not have found themselves in the Carabao Cup semi-final if it wasn't for Nunez's stunning strike against Bournemouth in the fourth round of the competition.

Cody Gakpo had given Liverpool the lead before the break, but Justin Kluivert would level for the hosts after half-time.

With the game becoming increasingly stretched in wet and windy conditions, Nunez provided the moment of magic that would secure the Reds' passage to the quarter-final.

Alexander-Arnold sent a ball over the top of the Cherries' defence, Nunez's initial touch taking him away from goal.

The Uruguayan would redeem himself though, eventually cutting back on to his right foot and hammering a thunderous and dipping effort beyond Ionut Radu.

2. DOMINIK SZOBOSZLAI VS LEICESTER CITY

While Szoboszlai's first Liverpool goal was wonderful, his second was something truly, truly special.

After Leicester City had opened the scoring just two minutes into the game at Anfield, Gakpo produced an equaliser for the Reds shortly after half-time.

Liverpool continued to bombard the Leicester goal, creating plenty of clear-cut chances, but it was a moment of magic that would put the Reds ahead.

Szoboszlai, who had only been on the pitch for five minutes, would pick the ball up from 25 yards out following Endo's pass, rifling a venomous strike into the far corner and off the underside of the crossbar to make it 2-1.

Diogo Jota would add a late third for Klopp's side, but Szoboszlai's goal was the defining moment of the match.

1. ALEXIS MAC ALLISTER VS FULHAM

There were no surprises when Mac Allister's worldie against Fulham won the Premier League Goal of the Month award for December, the Argentine's strike the best of some stunning efforts from Liverpool players this term.

Klopp wouldn't know what was to come in the closing stages of the frantic 4-3 victory at Anfield, but Mac Allister's strike was one worth celebrating regardless.

The summer signing allowed the ball to run across his body and on to his preferred right foot, the midfielder spanking home an absolutely stunning effort from around 27 yards out.

The ball spiralled into the top corner in style, with Mac Allister's first Liverpool goal certainly a memorable one.
