One Liverpool youngster really caught the eye on his senior competitive debut for his country and might have sent Arne Slot a message.

There are plenty of international players catching the eye away from Liverpool at the moment.

From Trent Alexander-Arnold and Caoimhin Kelleher's brilliant displays in England's 2-0 victory over the Republic of Ireland to Ryan Gravenberch and Cody Gakpo putting in stellar performances in the Dutch national team's 5-2 victory over Bosnia.

But it wasn't just the senior Liverpool players who caught the eye. There were plenty of young academy stars who also shone on Saturday from Liverpool's squad.

How Liverpool youngster Kyle Kelly sent Arne Slot a message

Among those young players was Kyle Kelly, who made his senior competitive debut for St Kitts and Nevis in the CONCACAF Nations League.

Kelly started in his country's 4-1 victory over the Cayman Islands. This was not his first appearance for his nation's senior national team, having featured in two friendly games for St Kitts and Nevis against San Marino back in March.

However, it was the first time he tasted an experience of competitive international football and Kelly seemed to take the opportunity in his stride.

The Liverpool youngster was brilliant in the game. According to SofaScore, he won 6/12 ground duels, completed 3/6 dribbles and made two key passes as well.

Not to mention he was involved in his country's second goal of the game, making a long surging run from midfield into the penalty area. Ultimately, he ran into trouble and briefly lost the ball but then immediately won it back creating the opportunity for his teammate to score.

Kelly's impressive pressing will have sent Arne Slot a timely message.

The 18-year-old is yet to feature for Liverpool's first team but he showed with that moment in the game that he understands the essence of Slot's tactics and has the fundamentals to be handed an opportunity to prove himself in Liverpool's senior team.

Who is Liverpool youngster Kyle Kelly?

Kelly has been at the club since 2020 and signed his first professional contract with Liverpool back in 2022.

He has predominantly featured for the club's U18 side so far, but has recently earned a promotion to the U21 team.

The midfielder is known to be highly versatile and he can play in a number of different positions. At academy level, he has played as a holding midfielder, a no.8 and even as a full-back.
