Long-term absentees aside, Jurgen Klopp has a full squad available to him for his side's trip to Manchester City on Saturday, the Liverpool coach has confirmed.

Speaking during his pre-match press conference on Friday, Klopp provided insights into his squad's fitness ahead of their top-of-the-table clash.

"Yeah, only the long-term absentees are still out. No new concerns – before I entered this room," said Klopp, highlighting the likely return of Joe Gomez, Ryan Gravenberch, Curtis Jones and Ibrahima Konate to the squad for the game at the Etihad.

A 'really good' international break

Despite his concerns about the effects of a Saturday 12.30pm kick-off for his players, Klopp described it as "a really good international break".

"Colombia were really successful, Lucho [Diaz] scored twice. Uruguay obviously did really well. So we have to see," hinting at the possibility of utilising in-form Darwin Nunez.

"Yes, [Nunez] is in a good moment and we want to use him as often as possible. If it’s possible, I don’t know in this moment."

Following this latest round of international fixtures, Klopp emphasised the need for individual assessments before selecting his line-up to face Pep Guardiola's team: "For these decisions I have to wait until: at 3pm is the meeting and 4pm is training, so until then. Look in their eyes, talk to them and then figure out who is ready to start and who is probably better to bring on."

Youngsters coming back

Speaking about long-term injuries, Klopp also shed light on the progress of two youngsters.

"Conor Bradley [is] completely normal in training but now he needs to play games, starting with the U21s," he said.

Additionally, Klopp spoke about Kaide Gordon who trained with the first team for the past week, describing it as "really exciting".

"[He] looks really good, has to now gain minutes. I think that’s it."

Yet again, there was no mention of Thiago Alcantara's return from a long-term hip problem.
