While fans will hope FSG invest in Arne Slot's squad this summer, the reality is that a significant proportion of the transfer budget is going to come from player sales.

Anfield Watch understands that Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz are all players who will have their futures assessed when the season draws to an end as part of an attacking rebuild.

However, other players will also likely move on; such as, Coaimhin Kelleher, Joe Gomez and even Jarrell Quansah, who is wanted by Newcastle despite the youngster penning a new contract earlier this season.

Even the players who will be out of contract like Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Virgil Van Dijk will help improve the budget because their wages will disappear from the accounts, if they leave.

But now it appears as though some of the club's biggest young talents are also set to been the chopping block this summer.

Three wonderkids set to be sent packing

According to David Lynch, who spoke to Anfield Index for One Football, the club is assessing the futures of Ben Doak, Stefan Bajcetic and Owen Beck, each players who have been out on loan this season.

Traditionally, the Reds sending a player on loan has not been a clear sign that the club is looking to move them on, rather the loan market is a way to fast-track the player's development before working out whether they can be integrated into the first team.

In the case of Doak, a 19-year-old Scottish winger, the club decided to send him on loan to Middlesbrough where he has had a relatively successful season. After getting opportunities at Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp, Slot felt he his game needed more time to mature.

Now seven months on, Lynch had this to say about his situation: "Doak's number have been decent for Middlesbrough, but would we be signing him based on his performances? I wouldn't think so."

Then we get to Bajcetic who was a first-team squad player under Klopp, in between his significant spells on the sidelines through injury which might have cost him an Anfield career. He was loaned out to RB Salzburg which was an incredible mis-match and his performances for Las Palmas in this second half of the season are yet to really get anyone up off their seat.

Lynch added: "Was it [his loan move] because he needed minutes in his legs or was it because Arne Slot wasn't sure on him."

Of course the more Bajcetic played, the more likely it was that his injury issues would return because his body wasn't quite up to speed with the physical demands of the game after spending so long out.

Owen Beck Blackburn 2024-25

And then we have Beck, who has had two different loan moves since he arrives at Liverpool, although now he is 22 years old, it is clear that a decision has to be made on the Welshman's career before his youth is wasted.

In Lynch's view: "I actually thought Owen Beck was the closest to making the first-team after impressing on loan at Blackburn Rovers, but he will likely leave this summer too."

Of course Liverpool will want hang onto their best young talents, but if they simply can't make their way into the manager's plans then the best decision for all parties involved is to move them on.

After all, the club constantly has fresh batches of young players making their way up through the academy and as such, Liverpool have the right to be specific in exactly what their looking for when assessing the team's needs.

But if even though we might see the players in different shirts on permanent basis, fans can take solace in theft that they will be playing regular football and the Reds will receive a boost to their transfer budget ahead of a massive summer.
