Liverpool will reportedly wait and see on Youssoufa Moukoko as talks about a Premier League move begin at Borussia Dortmund.

This comes from Team Talk. They claim that Youssoufa Moukoko is set for talks with Borussia Dortmund over his future from January.

Moukoko is struggling badly for game time at Dortmund and it's very possible that he could leave the club in January. The report states that a permanent sale is a little unlikely - but a loan is feasible. The Premier League is a real potential destination, they say.

But Liverpool are unlikely to move for Moukoko. There's still an interest, apparently, and the Reds have extensively scouted him. They have other priorities in January, however, and will wait this one out.

Newcastle United are in a similar boat - perhaps they'll go for the player down the line but they'll wait to see if he's available at another time.

It opens the door for the likes of Crystal Palace or Chelsea to try and strike a deal this January. The former on loan, the latter permanently.

Liverpool certainly have no room for a young forward right now. They boast several elite forward options and if Moukoko can't break through at Dortmund, he'd have next to no chance at Anfield.

And so the best case when it comes to Moukoko for Liverpool would be to watch him play on loan at another Premier League side. Should he shine at somewhere like Palace, perhaps the summer brings further interest from the Reds.

But for now, no one should expect a deal here. Liverpool need defensive help, in particular a defensive midfielder, as their front-line is arguably the best in the Premier League right now.

Moukoko remains a very interesting prospect but not one that Liverpool need to worry about right now. Maybe down the line.
