Four things you missed in Liverpool vs Newcastle United as INCREDIBLE Mo Salah makes history
Newcastle away from home was always going to be a tough test for Liverpool.
Even for an Arne Slot side that has dismantled Manchester City and Real Madrid in the past week.

And for a while it seemed like Slot's side may slip up at last. Newcastle took the lead twice, with Anthony Gordon scoring in the second half.
But Liverpool clawed back every single time and even took the lead thanks to the brilliance of Mohamed Salah.
In the end though, it just wasn't enough for Liverpool. The Reds could only take a point from a tough away ground which on current form will be disappointing.
However, in the grand scheme of things this was a good result for Slot's side and nothing to be ashamed of.
Youngster on the bench
There were a few defenders missing in Liverpool's matchday squad tonight which forced Arne Slot to start Jarell Quansah at right-back and give Joe Gomez another start as well.
It also meant there was a new face on the Liverpool bench with Amara Nallo called-up by the club's head coach.
The youngster has been making very promising strides in the club's academy and it feels like it's only a matter of time until he gets his first team opportunity.
We wrote about him in more detail here.
Alexis Mac Allister suspended for Everton
The Argentine picked up his fifth booking of the season in this one and he will be disappointed as it means he won't be available for Liverpool's big derby game at the weekend.
Thankfully, Slot has plenty of other options to choose from in midfield with Jones probably expected to play in Mac Allister's role meanwhile Dominik Szoboszlai will come in for that.
The suspension also means Trey Nyoni is another step closer to being involved with the first team having sat on the bench tonight.

Liverpool’s half-time goals
Liverpool’s track record this season has been that they are more of a second-half team rather than a first-half team and that was proved today.
The Reds were far more improved in the second-half and were actually able to threaten the Newcastle United defence - something that did not really happen in the first-half.
They were rewarded for their efforts as well with three goals, which means Liverpool have scored 19 of their last 22 goals in the second-half.
Not too shabby. Although we would prefer if Slot's side could do something similar in the first-half as well.
Salah surpasses Vinicius Jr. record
Vinicius Jr. scored 15 goals and 5 assists in the 2023/24 La Liga campaign. Real Madrid blew up believing he should have won the Ballon d’Or last season.
Now Salah has not only matched that goal contribution tally for Vinicius' entire campaign last season - but he's surpassed it.
With three goal contributions for Liverpool on the night, Salah now has 21 already in the Premier League.
Meanwhile, he's also made history becoming the first Premier League player to have 37 matches with a goal and assist to his name.
That's surely Ballon d'Or form. At this rate it will be a mockery of the award if Salah doesn't clinch it.
