Liverpool vs Man City: Gary Neville REVEALS who he wants to win title showdown

Former Manchester United star turned pundit Gary Neville has revealed why he wants Liverpool to beat Manchester City this weekend.

Liverpool face City at Anfield this Sunday in what could be a pivotal moment in this season's title race.

The Reds top the table after 27 games with 63 points, one ahead of second-placed City.

With Arsenal just one more point back in third, it appears as though the Premier League could have its most competitive title race in years as we approach the final ten gameweeks of the campaign.

As well as chasing league glory, Liverpool are still in the mix for the FA Cup and Europa League and could even finish Jurgen Klopp's final season with a quadruple, having already secured the Carabao Cup last month.

The very thought of that prospect might usually be enough to see ardent United fan Neville break out in a cold sweat, but even G-Nev can see the greater good going into Sunday.

Speaking on The Overlap, the former right back admitted he thinks City will win at Anfield, but he would prefer his old rivals to get the job done.

He said: "I think City will beat you [Liverpool]. I want Liverpool to win because I want to league to be opened up.

"But I think City will win on Sunday, I think he’ll come and he’ll put a right job in."

He added: "I don't know why, just Liverpool at the moment, still obviously reeling with injuries are scrambling through games like you wouldn't believe at the moment. They are literally scruffy as hell.

"They've got momentum but I think Sunday will be too much for them."

Both sides go into the game in strong form. Liverpool have won their last seven in all competitions, while Pep Guardiola's side are unbeaten in 20.

While Liverpool's injury issues are well known, City could go into the game without Jack Grealish, Matheus Nunes and Jeremy Doku, with the trio suffering with issues.
