In the end, Cody Gakpo salvaged an equaliser to make sure Liverpool headed into the break on level terms.

And soon after the return to action in the second-half Curtis jones took the lead for Liverpool to complete the comeback.

Alisson Becker - 6

Apart from the Leicester City goal, he didn't have much to do but when he was called upon the Brazilian was solid as ever.

Trent Alexander-Arnold - 6

He was very proactive on the pitch and kept instigating things for Liverpool with some of his deliveries causing problems.

Joe Gomez - 5

Not much to do defensively. He roamed around the pitch and did his duties but he could have been a little better on the ball to help Liverpool move it quicker.

Virgil van Dijk - 6

Liverpool's captain was as calm and composed as he ever is and was not to blame for the goal.

Andy Robertson - 5

Caught out for Leicester City's goal, he looked a little sluggish defensively which has been a major concern all season.

Ryan Gravenberch - 6

Gravenberch is the best defensive midfielder in the world right now. He was trying his best in this game too, but he was very restricted by a rigid Leicester defence.

Alexis Mac Allister - 8

He celebrated his 26th birthday over the Christmas period and he delivered tonight in celebration providing two assists to set-up a brilliant Liverpool comeback.

Curtis Jones - 7

Jones was very lively and active with a number of flicks and clever little feints, but none of it was enough to unlock Leicester in the first-half. He came up trumps in the second with a decisive finish. Slot will be very pleased with this performance.

Cody Gakpo - 8

Didn't get much of the ball in the first-half and he will be disappointed by that, but the one moment he did try to make things happen he delivered with a brilliant effort. And then he made the difference towards the end of the game too setting up Salah with a brilliant cross-field pass. Slot will be delighted with the way Gakpo is performing at the moment.

Mohamed Salah - 7

Missed a couple of big chances he might have scored on another night. He was equally unlucky with some of his other efforts. Just didn't seem to click for him all night until the very end when he finally bagged his goal.

Darwin Nunez - 5

He's had very few touches in the game and looks isolated upfront. Not the kind of response he would have wanted on his return to the starting line-up.

Dominik Szoboszlai - 6

Looked lively and sharp when he came on but picking up that yellow card was hugely disappointing. He will miss Liverpool's next game against West Ham United.

Diogo Jota - 6

Came on and made things happen straight away. His role for Salah's first goal of the game to draw the defenders away was vital.

Kostas Tsimikas - N/A

He didn't play enough to give him a rating.

Wataru Endo - N/A

He didn't play enough to give him a rating.

Harvey Elliott - N/A

He didn't play enough to give him a rating.
