Jurgen Klopp’s final FA Cup run was denied a trip to Wembley after Liverpool were edged out by arch-rivals Manchester United in a 4-3 thriller at Old Trafford last March.

Liverpool come into Saturday’s game winless in their past two games. A disappointing 2-2 draw with Ruben Amorim’s United side was followed up with a narrow 1-0 loss to Spurs in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final tie.

Squad rotation expected

Slot will be expected to rotate heavily on Saturday with a crunch clash with Nottingham Forest on the horizon.

Trey Nyoni and Jayden Danns are two youngsters that could feature against the League Two side with fans hopeful to get a glimpse of Rio Ngumoha who joined the club in the summer.

First team players such as Darwin Nunez, Federico Chiesa, Harvey Elliott and Caoimhin Kelleher all didn’t start on Wednesday and could feature from the start this weekend instead.

Joe Gomez remains out with a hamstring injury and Jarell Quansah will be a doubt after being subbed off against Tottenham with illness.

Slot will be hoping to have Dominik Szoboszlai back available after missing the last two outings with illness.
