He's also ingrained in the culture and seems to have a good relationship with some NBA players, including Miami Heat small forward, Jimmy Butler.

Liverpool, too, harbour close relations with NBA stars with LeBron James a stakeholder in the club. Meanwhile, in the summer NBA rookie, Jared McCain collaborated with Liverpool stars like Curtis Jones in an official video.

The NBA season is set to commence next week and ahead of the season Netflix released a special series called Starting 5.

The series follows the life of five NBA stars, including LeBron James and Jimmy Butler during the course of the 2023/24 NBA season.

In this sense, the two of them, despite never playing for the same NBA clubs at the same time, have become teammates for this one off Netflix special.

It seems like Van Dijk will have been watching the show and inspired by the new NBA season.

In Liverpool's latest video the Reds' captain was seen showcasing his impressive ball skills spinning a basketball on top of his fingers.

At the end of the video, Van Dijk is also heard calling out Butler, declaring 'Jimmy Buckets' to the camera in a reference to the Miami star's famous nickname.

The funny video is showing the Liverpool captain to be in great spirits ahead of the Reds' next game against Chelsea, which is great to see.

Van Dijk seemingly has a good relationship with Butler, who has praised him in an Instagram post before back in 2022, over two years ago now.
