Liverpool urged to sign Arnaut Danjuma
Former Premier League goalkeeper Paul Robinson has said that winger Arnaut Danjuma would be a good signing for Liverpool should the Reds complete any deal for the Villarreal attacker.
The former AFC Bournemouth player moved to the La Liga side after leaving the Cherries in the summer and has quickly settled in in Spain, producing a number of fine performances.
Indeed, that has led to transfer speculation that Liverpool are keen on signing him in the near future and Robinson is of the opinion that he would be a hit on Merseyside if such a deal went through:
“I have been really impressed with him at Villarreal,” he told Football Insider.
“He’s been brilliant under Unai Emery in a team that has done really well in recent years.
“I don’t think he is a player who would improve Liverpool’s starting XI straight away though.
"There is a lot of games for a club like Liverpool though so he would have a role to play. He would not be one of the first names on the team sheet. But he’s certainly a player who would add value to their squad.
“I could see him fitting into Klopp’s style of play. I think he’d do well.”
Anfield Watch Verdict
Danjuma looks like a player that is on a real upward trajectory at the moment and you can see why that might attract Liverpool.
The Reds have typically signed footballers that are not yet world-leading stars but that could become them in the next few years, and potentially Danjuma fits that description.
We'll just have to see if any deal does happen but Robinson seems to like the sound of it at least.
