In fact, right now, Liverpool are struggling to keep their own players, let alone bring anyone in.
Mo Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold look increasingly likelier to leave upon the expiry of their current deals at the end of the season with every passing day.
It's a situation that completely threatens to derail the Reds and one that needs to be resolved.
But at least there has been one new arrival at Anfield with the club unveiling an exciting new addition to fans.
Liverpool unveil exciting 'new signing' at Anfield
In a report by the Daily Mail the website writes that a 'new signing' was spotted at Anfield ahead of the Reds' game against Wolverhampton.
That new signing is not a player but a vending machine installed at Anfield.
It's a state-of-the-art machine according to the Daily Mail that has been installed on the Kop concourse and it sells freshly poured pints at the price of £6 to help fans quench their thirst during the game.
Undoubtedly, it's an exciting new addition for fans who apparently clamoured to try out what the vending machine has in store at half-time.
However, no amount of pints will quench the thirst for new signings at Anfield. Or indeed the thirst for the renewals for the club's aforementioned trio.
That is ultimately what the fans want to see at the ground. Players whose futures are settled and exciting arrivals coming to wear the Liver Bird on their chests.
It's nice to see that Liverpool are trying to add to the fan experience and having a vending machine that can serve pints at the Kop will undoubtedly do that.
