Liverpool fans EXCITED as forgotten £3m signing scores wondergoal

Excitement is in the air amongst many Liverpool supporters after the under-21s side came from behind against Crystal Palace earlier in the week to reach the Premier League 2 play-offs quarter-finals.

One player in particular who caught the eye was captain Kaide Gordon as he lead by example with two goals in quick succession to get the young Reds back on level terms.

His first was a simple tap-in, but his second was outstanding as he received the ball just outside the penalty area and whipped an unstoppable effort into the top corner.

Whilst Trey Nyoni scored what proved to be the winner, Gordon's stunning strike has garnered quite the reaction on social media. With Liverpool uploading a clip of his second goal to Instagram, it's clear many supporters are keen to see the teenager involved with the first-team again sooner rather than later.

Gordon, similar to Mohamed Salah, does often start on the right which allows him to cut in onto his left foot joined Liverpool at the start of 2021 after leaving Derby County in a deal that could eventually be worth up to £3million, according to reports.

He signed his first professional contract in October 2021, days after turning 17, and has already featured in the first-team on seven occasions. However, his progress has stalled as a result of a pelvic growth issue which kept him sidelined for almost a year and a half, so it's just good to see him back on the pitch again.

What Klopp has said about Kaide Gordon

It's clear that Jurgen Klopp values Gordon highly having called up the 19-year-old to several matchday squads this season.

"So we've been really unlucky with some of our big, big prospects," Klopp said at a press conference back in December. "We've had that they were a little bit too good already for the physical status, let me say it like this. They were that good that we thought they could help us already and everything was going in the right direction.

"And then the body says: 'No, stop'. That happened to Kaide, actually, two or three times and it was a really long time out but it's now really cool that the first day back in training we all realised: 'Ah, that is what we have missed! That is what we had already'.

"So nothing has happened already, he is still a fantastic player and still incredibly young and he is now, again, around the first team. We try to give him as much game-time as possible with the U21s and I, you know that, I am a believer in us needing a strong U21s.

"They all need to be on loan at the same time everywhere, there are different ways to develop talents.

"And especially after long injuries, you should not immediately think that now he is fit we can send them out. We have a really good group of young boys there and tomorrow we will see a few of them, that is clear."
