Ajax's under-18s dished out a humbling to their Liverpool counterparts with a scarcely believable 10-0 victory in an astonishing friendly match held in Amsterdam on Wednesday.

The exhibition match, proposed by the Dutch side in the wake of their failure to secure qualification for this season's Youth League, was intended to provide their young prospects with valuable international experience. However, they got much more than that.

The onslaught began just one minute into the game, with Don-Angelo Konadu setting the tone by opening the scoring.

This early goal sparked an extraordinary first half for Ajax, where they went on to establish an overwhelming 8-0 lead by half-time.

Konadu proved to be the star of the show, securing an incredible four goals for himself. Skye Vink, Jan Faberski, Don O’Niel, and Lucas Jetten also contributed to the first-half goal-fest.

Foot off the gas

Ajax continued to dominate in the second half, but they took their foot off the gas somewhat.

But despite easing off, the Dutch side managed to add two more goals to their tally, courtesy of Rayane Bounida and Kayden Wolff.

The comprehensive victory provides Ajax's under-18 team with a boost of confidence as they head into the second half of their season. The match not only showcased the team's offensive prowess but also highlighted the depth of talent within the squad.

While the result may be a source of celebration for Ajax fans, Liverpool's young stars will undoubtedly be left reflecting on a challenging outing. The experience, however, could serve as a valuable learning opportunity for the young players as they look to bounce back in their upcoming fixtures.

Liverpool currently sit second in the northern section of the U18s Premier League but are some 12 points behind rivals Manchester United, who have won all 12 of their games so far.
