Liverpool's NEXT Xabi Alonso ready to be UNLEASHED by Arne Slot
As Liverpool fans, it was a pleasure to see the return of Xabi Alonso to Anfield last Tuesday in the Champions League.
The prolific midfielder was essential in a dominant period in Reds history, being a huge part of that night in Istanbul scoring the equaliser against AC Milan and contributing to Liverpool's eventual FA Cup triumph in 2006.
The Anfield faithful adore him, even chanting his name at the end of the game against Bayern Leverkusen.

His talent when playing was undeniable, earning him a move to Real Madrid in 2009.
Recently, a current Liverpool talent has been compared to the World Cup winning Spaniard; one who Arne Slot has been reluctant to use.
Morton underappreciated by Slot?
Liverpool’s midfield options are endless. Slot is blessed to have so many talented playmakers at his disposal and they have helped sky-rocket the Reds to the top of the Premier League and Champions League.
A player who has shown tremendous promise throughout his early career has been Tyler Morton.
The 22-year-old has been unable to burst into the first team, but the young Englishman is ready to prove a point.
While on loan at Hull City in the Championship last season, he was an essential part of the Tigers midfield, forming a great partnership with Jean Michael Seri.
Morton chalked up three goals and five assists in a successful campaign personally for the player.
He returned to the Reds hoping to secure a place in Arne Slot’s plans, but this has not been the case.
The Liverpool number 80 is still yet to gain any minutes in the Premier League this season, which will frustrate him.
But there are positives most recently the Carabao Cup 4th round win against Brighton. Morton started the game and looked hungry to prove a point, providing an assist and completing 81% of his overall passes.
This would have given Tyler huge confidence that Slot sees something special in him. And this is reflected throughout the whole squad.
Morton compared to Alonso
In a recent training video, the midfielder picks up the ball, turns and strikes from distance with the shot crashing against the crossbar.
It’s a sweet hit, but what caught the attention of fans is someone shouting, “go on Xabi Alonso!”.
The fact that even the team compares him to one of the greatest midfielders of this generation is immensely exciting.
Slot needs to use him more. The Reds have a lot of games in the calendar coming up and his ability has shown he is more than capable of stepping up. Players like Alexis Mac Allister are well overdue a rest. This is where Tyler can come in and shine.
With the international break now upon us, Morton travels with the England Under-21’s side to face Spain and the Netherlands.
If his performances excel in the next couple of weeks, who is to say he shouldn’t be in line for a start in the next league game against Southampton?
