Tyler Morton's HILARIOUS response to social media trolls
Tyler Morton’s performance against Southampton last night was the freshest piece of evidence that the youngster has what it takes to succeed at the top level.
Morton looked firmly in place despite it only being his second start of the season (his first coming in the previous round of the cup), commanding the midfield in the first half before dropping into a lesser-seen right back role for the second 45.

And he did so whilst completing a game-third 59 passes, a game-second 11 passes into the final third, and a team-second seven defensive actions.
In Anfield Watch’s own player ratings he was awarded a 7, whilst other youth players weren’t afforded such a score.
Trey Nyoni didn’t match Morton’s level in his first ever start, and neither did James McConnell when he was brought on.
Some people, however, didn’t seem to appreciate Morton’s efforts.
Tyler Morton's unsolicited advice
On his post-game Instagram post, a compilation of pictures of himself doing his job throughout the game, Instagram user @earnest_chiungano commented:
“You need to keep it simple lad, the unnecessary spins and back [heels] could have costed us dearly in the second half”
Clearly overjoyed with this worthwhile advice, Morton sarcastically replied,
“Cheers”.
Whether you think they’re actually going to see your comment or not, giving genuine advice to a professional footballer on places you think they can improve is indicative of what social media has become.
The flattening out of interactions and equality placed in posting means that some people legitimately feel empowered to tell professional footballers to do something they literally have no idea how to do at that level.
Hopefully Morton’s reply makes some people think twice about doing the same thing themselves.
