Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joel Matip and Thiago Alcantara have all reportedly entered contract discussions with Liverpool.

According to Football Insider, Alexander-Arnold has agreed a deal in principle to extend his current deal at the club, reportedly 'desperate' to be a part of Liverpool's exciting rebuild.

The Reds vice-captain has no desire to leave the club, but with only two years left on his current contract, Liverpool are said to be keen to tie down their right-back to a long-term deal, ending any speculation surrounding the Scouser's future.

The publication also reports that talks have been opened talks to extend the deals of Thiago and Matip.

Thiago was subject to strong interest from both Saudi Arabia and Turkey in the summer, but rejected the opportunity to move away from Anfield, sticking around to fight for his place at Liverpool.

However, with his contract expiring in June 2024, many speculated that this season could well be the last for the Spaniard on Merseyside.

This appeared the likely scenario when it was reported that Liverpool had no intention to offer Thiago an extension back in June, instead preferring to let the midfielder leave on a free next summer.

Now, though, Football Insider are claiming the club are in negotiations with Thiago over a new deal - however, talks are not at an advanced stage, and if a 'big offer' was to come in for the 32-year-old in January, the club would reportedly be willing to accept.

Matip's current contract is also into it's final year, and Football Insider are similarly reporting that Liverpool have begun preliminary talks with the Cameroonian's representatives over a potential extension.

Again, talks are not said to be at an advanced stage, and if no resolution is made in the coming months, the 32-year-old will be able to discuss a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs in January.
