It is fair to say Trent Alexander-Arnold put in a stellar display against Manchester United, contributing to a defensive and passing masterclass against Liverpool’s most hated rivals.

But Trent also presented his personality in many different ways both during and after the game.

Trent kissed the camera in a Steven Gerrard-esque manner after seemingly scoring the goal to put the Reds into the lead against United before this was disallowed for offside.

However, this bold statement didn’t deter him and after the game, he reminded the Liverpool fans of the dominance displayed on the pitch by gesturing to them the final score in a comedic manner followed by a final farewell kiss to the travelling Kop.

However, the tomfoolery didn’t stop there. In a leaked video on social media, the Liverpool players can be seen exiting Old Trafford after the 3-0 triumph. However, they were met with boos and jeers from the opposition fans, clearly aggravated by the poor performance of their own team.

In the video, Trent is seen leaving first alongside Mohamed Salah. As the boos commence, Trent issues the same gesture to the Manchester United fans as he did to the Liverpool fans, sparking further outrage and abuse from the supporters.

Trent couldn’t help but laugh and continue before Salah calmly tells him that maybe enough is enough.

Further into the video, we can see other players leaving and smiling at the United fans dismay. Arne Slot’s reaction is also one of note when a Manchester United fan angrily declares: “You’re not welcome here” to which Slot reacts to this comment with a cheeky smirk.

Trent shows fans what beating Man Utd means

The United fans clearly wanted to get in the Liverpool players and staff’s heads, but they need to worry more about how their own team perform on the pitch.

Either way, a brilliant day for Liverpool was capped off by Trent’s fantastic sense of humour and understanding of just how much this game meant to the fans.
