Trent Alexander-Arnold sends BIZARRE message to Real Madrid
Trent Alexander-Arnold is heading to Real Madrid. That is according to almost every senior football journalist on planet earth, and Liverpool fan's have made their feelings clear about the decision.
Remarks of 'snake' and 'traitor' have been well-versed at this point, despite the fact that no formal agreement has been announced quite yet. Just like how the Mohamed Salah and Virgil Van Dijk extension reports have sprung out of nowhere, Trent could still decide to change his mind.

Of course, a change of heart is unlikely. While he might have said all the right things in front of the cameras, previous claiming he wanted to spend the rest of his career with the Reds and announcing his captaincy ambitions, it now seems inevitable that he will become a Galactico this summer.
However, there are a few recent updates that have left fans extremely confused about the situation.
A few weeks ago, Trent was pictured in an Instagram story from Salah with Ibrahima Konate and Dominik Szoboszlai with them sitting on a sofa in a living room. This prompted questions such as; Are things awkward? Have they addressed the elephant in the room? Can Trent be convinced to stay?
Now, this latest update to the saga has made the current situation feel even more bizarre.
Is all hope lost for Trent to remain at Liverpool?
On his way into training, Trent is pictured by the club's cameras holding some books from a local bookshop, but his choice of literature is what fans decided to focus most on.
In his hands was Roberto Firmino's book, a love letter to the club denoting how much he enjoyed his spell with the Reds, and in the bag is Steven Gerrard's autobiography, which is about as pro-Liverpool as you would expect from the one-club legend.
Now of course, I am totally aware that a Liverpool player reading books about the club is not news, especially a player that was born and bred in the local area.
But he's all-but confirmed to be leaving. While the club is on verge of winning it's 20th first division title, the homegrown right-back is set to reportedly set to be abandoning us after the trophy parade.
So his choice of literature hardly makes sense does it? While it might be a little bait given the agreement is yet to be confirmed, you would surely assume he would be reading something else?
If we add the book choices to the lack of formal news around a transfer to Madrid, and the mysterious post from Salah, then we have a half tangible case that hope may not be lost quite yet.
After all, Trent has had every right to agree a pre-contract deal with Madrid since January. He will essentially become a free agent if a new contract isn't agreed with Liverpool.
Why not just get it all over and done with? The fans are already starting to make peace with his reported decision before the player has even addressed them.
Consider the situation over at Manchester City with Kevin De Bruyne. The Belgian posted an open letter to the fans that was honest and frank about his decision to leave upon the expiration of his contract. Why can't Trent have done this for us? Surely it's the least he owes us if he is to leave?

Until anything formal comes out, the right-back's future will remain a mystery. We will all feel like we have a decent idea where he might be next season, but nothing is certain quite yet.
